Condo Cleaning

We have had some success with cleaning in the down town core. It’s competitive so we have gained, then lost clients to people who only do condo cleaning. Condominiums are small, and perfect for the single person cleaning company. A single person can pay to park in a building, or area, and knock out two or three units per day. The cost for a single person at $30 per hour can get them $180 per day, easily. That works out to be about $50K per year.

Everybody wins that way. The cost per cleaning, to the consumer is less. One person is easier to trust in your home than a team, and that person becomes used to your routine. The cost of advertising in a confined area is very low. Most single down town core cleaners get lots of referrals. Many times the only vacuum they need is a small cannister, and in many cities you will see people walking on the street with a small vacuum, and bucket with supplies.

For a company, even two person teams, it’s hard to build a business with the price point of a single cleaner. If you lose a client, which happens a lot on price point, you are scouting again for a similar client in a similar location.

It’s possible to build the business, it just takes some concerted effort. The next article will be about what works best for down town core cleaning.
